Visiting Ott’s Exotic Plants and Mum Mountain

Ott’s Exotic Plants isn’t your typical greenhouse and nursery. Thanks to its waterfall and mountain of mums, it has become a fun destination for anyone in the Philadelphia area.

We loved visiting Ott’s in the fall when Mum Mountain is in full bloom. But walking through the greenhouse is one of our favorite things to do in the winter! The heat and humidity help you forget about the frigid temps outside.

Greenhouse

One of the best things to do at Ott’s is visit the incredible greenhouse.

As you walk in, you’re greeted by a huge waterfall that empties into a koi pond. The tropical plants surround you, and you feel instantly transported to a warm, beautiful place.

Take the time to explore this area of the greenhouse. Don’t miss the stairs that lead to a path over the tunnel, offering a bird’s-eye view of the pond.

Mum Mountain

One of the most popular things to do in Montgomery County during the fall season walk on Mum Mountain at Ott’s Exotic Plants.

The mountain is 40 feet tall, 175 feet wide, and is covered each year in 6,000-10,000 gorgeous mums of every color.

There are several winding staircases leading you to the top of the mountain, and it’s worth the climb for the view!

Typically, the mums are in full bloom towards the last half of October. The photos here were taken on October 20th.

Of course, you can’t visit Ott’s Exotic without purchasing something for your own garden. They have a huge selection of plants for any type of garden.

You can also purchase garden decor at Ott’s.
